Hilary Clay Hicks is more than a filmmaker and writer — he is a visionary out of time. Against all odds, he struggled for decades to document the history of the legendary “lost” ‘60s rock band UNICORN and their masterpiece album, The Cosmic Storyteller.
Their renaissance began with the discovery of the long-missing master tapes. They inspired Mr. Hicks to interview surviving members of the band, friends and lovers, and dozens of celebrities who knew them.
What he uncovered is the mythic tale of UNICORN’s musical odyssey, an epic story of young people, art, spirit, and rebellion set against the tumultuous events of the ‘60s that were the rites of passage for a generation and still shape our times. Told in a book, a rockumentary, and other multimedia that bridge what was and what could have been, it changed his life and might even change yours.
